Acoustic guitars

BSG

Czech acoustic guitars made by hand, one by one, in the workshop.

Founded in 1999 by Jan Šťovíček and Pavel Bureš, the company BSG (for Bureš Šťovíček Guitars) has its roots in Jan Šťovíček's own path: he built his first acoustic guitar in 1990, before training in Czech lutherie and then refining his craft in the United States. After Pavel Bureš left in 2004, Jan carried on alone from his workshop in Žamberk, Czech Republic, where every instrument is still built in a craft rather than industrial logic.

The brand stands out for guitars hand-assembled in selected woods, with bone nut and saddle, wood binding and inlay work, and mother-of-pearl and abalone inlays, offered across a wide range of body shapes (Dreadnought, OM, Grand Auditorium, parlor, as well as twelve-string, baritone, multiscale or acoustic bass models). This one-at-a-time approach, in which the instrument is shaped to the client's expectations, explains a measured distribution through a limited network of selected dealers, the setting in which the Azzato workshop's advice takes place.
