Acoustic guitars
Furch
The Czech luthier of high-end solid-wood acoustics.
Founded in 1981 by František Furch, a metallurgist and musician who built his own instruments for lack of any available in Czechoslovakia, the brand settled, after the fall of the regime, into a former mill in Velké Němčice. Taken over in 2012 by his son Petr, it has grown a family workshop into one of the most respected acoustic guitar workshops in Europe, while keeping production entirely Czech.
Every model is built in solid wood, including top, back and sides, and the house develops its own processes: top voicing, lightened bracing and a patented neck reinforcement. The range is organized in series identified by color, running from understated configurations to the rarest woods, which lets the workshop guide each musician toward the grain, body shape and tonal result that suits them.
