Moeck

Founded in 1930 in Celle by Hermann Moeck, the house began by publishing sheet music and distributing recorders, before developing its own manufacturing after the war, driven by his son Hermann Alexander Moeck. Still family-run across four generations and still based in Lower Saxony, Moeck has established itself as a reference for the concert recorder, notably through the Rottenburgh series designed by Friedrich von Huene in the late 1960s.

The instruments are made entirely in Germany, from carefully selected woods worked using a combination of hand-turning, tuning expertise and modern tools; the manufacturer even has its own foundry for brass keywork. The range covers the whole playing spectrum, from the school recorder and student models to copies after the great baroque makers (Denner, Stanesby, Hotteterre), allowing the workshop to guide each musician toward the instrument suited to their level and repertoire.
